Breathing New Life Back Into a Showhome!

Interior design is the difference between selling a house, and selling a lifestyle! That’s why a visually appealing, enticing and unique showhome is a powerful marketing weapon for property developers, as it enables clients to envisage themselves living in style and luxury, and help make a sale.

A few years ago, I worked on a wonderful showhome in Uffculme, Devon, where I collaborated closely with LiveWest Ltd to design and create a gorgeous showhome with soft pink and grey accents around the property.

Well, I have recently revisited this property to give it a complete new, fresh look as we sought to breathe life back into the property!

Creating the Showhome

Back in April 2019, I started working closely with LiveWest who were looking to design and create a stunning space in the large Lucombe Park development of 3 and 4 bedroom houses in Uffculme, Devon

The aim was to appeal to professional families moving to the area for its rural lifestyle, and the great school and commuter connections the area offers.

The clients wish for the showhome was an open and airy feel that included:

  • Neutral colours with minimal coloured accessories
  • Furniture suited to the style of property and space available
  • Gender neutral bedrooms
  • A traditional and classic feel to reflect the property

I went with a neutral palette with accents of pink and grey, as this reflected the gorgeous pink render on the house.

Classic gold and rose golds were incorporated as accessory highlights and I added a variety of different textures to layer, adding interest to a minimal patterned scheme.

The result was a stunning showhome with a cohesive colour scheme that was sure to attract the eye of many a client looking for a classic, traditional feel!

Phase One:

Revisiting Uffculme

Over time, however, trends change and the interior design world moves on. LiveWest and I both agreed that, after three years, the showhome was beginning to feel a little tired and in dire need of fresh, new look for 2022.

The new brief? A vibrant and unique spring time feel that sparks joy!

For the colour scheme I chose lemons, mustards, bright blues, corals and greens to really add vibrancy, detail and luxuriousness to the scheme. I then accented with golds and plenty of foliage and plants. Shelves, mirrors and wallpaper really added interest, and gave a sumptuous feel to every room in the house!

The property was also given a complete lighting overhaul to enhance the brightness and dramatic patterns of the new, vibrant palette.

Other changes included new kitchen doors due to slight discolouration of the old ones; a new Karndean floor to the entrance kitchen, utility and study, and a hanging space with storage seat in the entrance way to create a “country lifestyle” feel for this unique family home.

Phase Two:

Working on this property for a second time was truly a pleasure, as it allowed me to breathe life back into a property that I loved designing the first time around. I’m excited for clients to view it and envisage themselves living in such a unique and fresh space! Thank you to LiveWest for this amazing opportunity.
